Meals are formal practice periods and an opportunity to give thanks for sustenance, for community, and for the bounty of the earth. Meals begin with a chanting of the Metta Sutta, the discourse on loving kindness. It is a daily reminder to take nourishment from a mindset of compassion and mindfulness.

Breakfast is eaten in silence to support deeper meditative practice. Lunch is often accompanied by a topic of some sort. Topics can vary from current events and existential risk, dharma, or issues in the community.

Breakfast and lunch are served daily (except Monday, which is self-serve). Dinner is not provided, but you are welcome to save food for later consumption. The food served is vegan—including grain, legume, and vegetable dishes. We do our best to accommodate food allergens and sensitivities.
